CREATIVE FICTION SERVICES

I can help at any stage in your manuscript's life cycle. Whether you're just starting out as writer, have an agent waiting for a revised manuscript, or are about to self-publish, I tailor each project to meet your editorial needs, from basic proofreading to a full manuscript critique with line edits.

Most of my current clients write middle grade, young adult/teen, new adult, and adult fiction (including romance); I also have experience with short stories, literary fiction, creative nonfiction, and other genres.

Editing services include basic, content, and comprehensive edits, First30 critique, proofreading, query and/or synopsis critique, custom packages, and more.

BUSINESS SERVICES

I have experience writing for numerous industries, including real estate, HVAC, behavioral health, senior living, and many more. Current business services include resume reviews, copy editing, proofreading, and light copywriting (such as website bios or letters). I will consider more intensive projects (web copy, SEO, blog post writing, social media contracts) if it's the right fit for both of us.

MY QUALIFICATIONS

Throughout my career, I have worked in various roles in the marketing industry, most recently managing a team of copywriters at a full-service marketing agency.

I earned an MFA in Creative Writing, fiction emphasis, from Minnesota State University, Mankato. During that time, I edited and critiqued novels and short stories in workshop settings. Since then, I have worked independently with writers of all levels as well as small presses. I've critiqued, edited, and/or beta read manuscripts by MG, YA, NA, and adult authors at various stages in their careers.

In addition, I have more than twenty years' experience writing and editing business documents, including Human Resources policies and procedures, retail standard operating procedures manuals, employee handbooks, newsletters, marketing materials, and much more. I have extensive social media experience  as well as experience writing copy and SEO for websites.

My young adult novels, The Last Thing You Said, Cold Day in the Sun, and Bend in the Road were published by Amulet Books, an imprint of Abrams Books. I am represented by Steven Chudney of The Chudney Agency.
