LIVE LIFE IN ALL CAPS

Meet Sara
Like many authors, I've been writing since I could hold a pencil; in third grade, I proclaimed that when I grew up, I would be an author of books. After decades of studying my craft and putting in the hard work, that dream came true with the publication of my first young adult novel, The Last Thing You Said, followed by Cold Day in the Sun and Bend in the Road. I also write adult rom-coms. I teach writing classes and offer editing and critique services.
Fun stuff about me: I'm an optimist, Aries, and ENFP. My favorite Muppet, Dr. Teeth, is also an ENFP. I was born and raised in Minnesota, and lived there until 2020 when my family and I moved to eastern Wisconsin, about four miles from Lake Michigan. My husband and I have two adult children and three schnoodles.
I'm a diehard member of Bills Mafia (#GoBills) and a fan of the Washington Capitals and Minnesota Wild hockey teams. I love hockey so much, I wrote a book about it. In my spare time, I like to travel, hike, visit record stores to add to my vinyl collection, and talk about Harry Styles.
The Official Bio
Sara Biren writes stories from the Northwoods with heart, humor, and happy ever afters. The author of adult and young adult contemporary romance, she earned an MFA in creative writing from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and works part-time as a freelance editor. She is a member of Chicago-North Romance Writers, Contemporary Romance Writers, and Write-On Door County, and serves on the board of the Wisconsin Writers Association.
Until recently a lifelong Minnesotan, Sara now lives in Wisconsin along the Lake Michigan lakeshore. If she’s not reading, writing, or watching hockey or football, you’ll most likely find her at a concert or record store with her husband and kids or hiking the Ice Age Trail. Visit Sara on Instagram or Facebook.
No big surprise here: I’m a voracious reader. Some of my favorite authors include Jane Austen, Anne Tyler, Emily Henry, Kate Clayborn, Annabel Monaghan, Katherine Center, Stephanie Perkins, Tim O'Brien, and Nick Hornby. My favorite childhood books were the Betsy-Tacy series by Maud Hart Lovelace (especially the high school books), Anne of Green Gables and Emily of New Moon by L.M. Montgomery, anything by Beverly Cleary (especially the high school books), and the Meg mysteries by Holly Walker.
I love to talk about books and writing (and Harry Styles), so connect with me on social media or send me an email!
