My Qualifications

Throughout my career, I have worked in various roles in the marketing industry, including managing a team of copywriters at a full-service marketing agency and most recently, as the primary editor for the publications division of that agency.

I earned an MFA in Creative Writing, fiction emphasis, from Minnesota State University, Mankato. During that time, I edited and critiqued novels and short stories in workshop settings. Since then, I have worked independently with writers of all levels as well as small presses and publishers. I've critiqued, edited, and/or beta read manuscripts by MG, YA, NA, and adult authors at various stages in their careers.

In addition, I have more than twenty years' experience writing and editing business documents, including Human Resources policies and procedures, retail standard operating procedures manuals, employee handbooks, newsletters, marketing materials, and much more. I have extensive social media experience  as well as experience writing copy and SEO for websites.

My young adult novels, The Last Thing You Said, Cold Day in the Sun, and Bend in the Road were published by Amulet Books, an imprint of Abrams Books.
