I'm catching the What's Up Wednesday hot air balloon from the blogs of Jaime Morrow and Erin Funk. Go to Jaime's blog to add your link. Here's how it works:
WHAT'S UP WEDNESDAY
WHAT I'M READING
I'm embarrassed to say that I'm still reading TAKEN by Erin Bowman, which is now several days overdue. Client edits and other stuff took priority over reading.
WHAT I'M WRITING
I made my Ready. Set. Write! goal of sending the first 30 pages of BEAUTIFUL BIRD, SING ON to my critique group by the 19th. It's been fun to get back into that manuscript and stumble upon the really lovely parts in the middle of all the - um - less lovely parts. Hey, that's why they call it a ROUGH draft, people! Embrace the roughage!
Next goal for RSW: the next 30 pages. Easy enough (bwahahahahaha).
WHAT ELSE I'VE BEEN UP TO
June 18 was Sir Paul McCartney's birthday, which of course called for a celebration. This year I didn't have time to bake a cake, so we had ice cream sandwiches and Mama had a cocktail (see below).
WHAT INSPIRES ME RIGHT NOW
Oh, wow. I don't even know where to begin.
Let's see what Paul has to say:
I'm inspired by all of you who want to be paperback writers, who work so hard toward your dreams. And you know what's awesome about you all? You're so supportive of one another. I'm so humbled and grateful to be a part of such a community. So thankful for all the amazing people I've met on my journey to be a paperback writer.
THANK YOU. From the bottom of my heart.
And a special thanks to a few of you who've been incredibly supportive this past week.
So, what's up with you? I missed a few posts last week but plan to make the full rounds this week!
